This update is purely to say if you didn’t play Oddmar at the time, or have never heard of it, well, you’ve now heard of it, and you should play it. It feels like a hand-drawn Astrix cartoon and we still love it for it. It’s perfectly priced for what is a solid, IAP-less platformer whose graphics are pure bliss. Because we found upon revisiting it that Oddmar is even rarer than we first considered. But since we first reviewed it, its value – like a fine scotch – has only improved. So what’s new? A couple bug fixes aside, the developers have left Oddmar untouched. Update! Nearly three years on, we thought it was time to revisit this award-winning platformer. If you're looking for a console-quality game on your iPhone or iPad, this is the one to get.A playful, clear and straightforward platformer It takes a a bit of practice to get used to, but starts to feel very natural. You jump by swiping up, ground slam by swiping down, and attack by tapping. The game supports MFi controllers, but I've been playing with touch controls, and they are very, very good. And despite being a mobile game, you won't find any in-app purchases in Oddmar. It has speed running challenges and Game Center achievements, too. Being a mobile game, levels are kept short with frequent checkpoints, but there are plenty of collectibles, secrets and dream sequences to go back for. The hand-drawn artwork is console-quality gorgeous, the music is fitting, it's got fully voiced narration and cut scenes, the platforming is as good as Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and the story is compelling. Being a mobile game, levels are kept short with frequent checkpoints, but there are Oddmar is one of the best action-platformers out there. Oddmar is one of the best action-platformers out there. JUST PLAY IT and you'll know what ı mean. I prefer the games as possible as playable and not repetitive to the ones "oh ı have a very original revolutionary idea but don't know how to do it so here is a buggy and shaggy product you can maybe play in the sake of our unique minds. It is not the most original or innovative game, but it is a combination of the elements of the classics. The controls feel so natural, they probably put a lot of thought and effort to make it like that. iphone screens are too small to appreciate its graphics. I strongly recommend to play it on a BIG screen. I don't know how they achieved that but you can play it SMOOTHLY maybe almost on every Apple product :D.
